Overview

Located in one of Vancouver’s historical districts, this studio space captures the various elements that represent the heart of the agency.

Retaining much of the original features such as large paned windows allows for natural light in every working nook and corner. The minimal sign that greets visitors at the entrance of the Very Polite head office sets the cheeky tone to “always be polite” while bringing in the underlying playful nature of the office with their signature yellow used in the custom carpet. GSD designed an open-concept format for the agency to collaborate easily while incorporating and balancing exposed spaces with intimate pockets throughout the studio. The desk arrangements were strategically designed to inspire cross-departmental interactions. The partners area on the left side of the studio is flanked by large windows, this sun-drenched section provides the right dose of privacy while also feeling accessible to the rest of the team. The creative studio on the right side of the office was designed specifically to foster the creative process with an elaborate and constantly evolving mood board that crowns the desks for the design team. The anchor of the office, the boardroom, is outlined by a bespoke metal and glass encasement and an integrated white board wall serves the creatives for scribbling ideas while brainstorming. Carefully curated furnishings and accessories contribute to a minimal aesthetic which punctuates the photography, all of which was taken by the client.
